At Udgam Foundation, we firmly believe that true empowerment begins with equipping women with practical skills and opportunities that foster self-reliance and community upliftment. As part of our commitment to this vision, we successfully conducted a one-day incense stick-making training workshop on 23rd April 2025, aimed at imparting hands-on learning and entrepreneurial insights to the local women.
The workshop was met with enthusiastic participation, with around 30 women, both young and elderly joining the training. The session was led by two trained experts in incense stick production, who provided comprehensive, step-by-step guidance through every stage of the process. Participants were trained in:
• Accurately mixing ingredients in the right proportion
• Preparing the perfect dough for incense sticks
• Rolling and shaping techniques
• Proper methods for drying and packaging
• Foundational marketing strategies to promote and sell their products
The women received not only technical skills but also the confidence to turn their learning into livelihood.
The workshop concluded on a high note, with each participant being awarded a certificate of participation as a token of recognition for their dedication and zeal to learn. Our team encouraged the women to utilize their newfound skills to explore micro-entrepreneurship and self-employment avenues in their communities.
