Success Story

INTRODUCTION

On the special occasion of Teachers’ Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Udgam Foundation, under its flagship initiative Udgam Uttaran, in collaboration with Topcem Cement, organized a one-day workshop on incense stick preparation.
The workshop aimed to promote self-reliant livelihoods and provide hands-on skill training to women, aligning with Udgam Foundation’s mission of empowering communities through skill development and sustainable opportunities.
This workshop was the first among a series of five workshops that will be organized under the same collaboration between Udgam Foundation and Topcem Cement, focusing on different skill-based training modules to empower local communities.

PARTICIPATION AND TRAINING

A total of 68 participants took part in the workshop. The training sessions were led by two expert resource persons, who provided comprehensive guidance, covering every step from raw material preparation to packaging.
Their detailed instructions ensured that each participant gained practical knowledge and hands-on experience in incense stick making, equipping them with skills to explore income-generating opportunities.

FACILITATION AND PARTICIPANT BENEFITS

At the conclusion of the workshop:
– Certificates of participation were distributed to all attendees
– Each participant received a packet lunch and travel allowance, ensuring their comfort and accessibility throughout the session
These thoughtful gestures reflected Udgam Foundation’s focus on inclusivity and participant well-being.
